I looked at those and just about everything else also. They are twice the money and would require new rings. The mil-dot reticle is tempting but what I found with the Zeiss Rapid-Z 600 reticle is that by adjusting the power level the hold over hash marks can be matched to the bullets drop. My .270 using a 130 grain bullet and the power at 7.4 mirrors the yardage markers. I tried it out with a Leupold 4X12 long range reticle on my .308 and sure enough using 168 grain A-max boat-tails and zeroed for 200 yards the first hold-over hits at 300 and the next at 400. I expect the Nitrex will work out similarly on my .300 Win mag.

Yes it was a go with the Win mag, that was the main concern I had. Compared to some of the calibers getting popular a .300 isn't considered much of a big deal. It's all I need, LOL.

Well I did finally decide and went with the Nitrex. I'll be the Guinea pig on this one, none were in stock as this is a new line for SWFA and they are just starting to built stock. The good news is that Nitrex has a mail in rebate program going on and that will save me $50.
