Need a little help please.
 
First off, at the recomendation of many here I just ordered from SWFA the Talley Lightweight Scopemounts for my son's Tikka .308.  In 3 years have had no trouble with the factories, but when you look for advice, you might as well follow it.
 
Now I need to upgrade my 760 Gamemaster.  Well...........  need is a relative term as it has killed around 30 deer over the last 6 years.
 
Until last year it had unknown 40 year old see thru mounts and rings.  The bottom see thru base part mounted to the gun, then the bottom ring mounted to the "base" with an allan set screw and then the top of the ring went over the scope. 
 
I thought I was having trouble keeping the ring to "base" mount tight, so bought a different set right before season last year.  They got me through, but I have to believe there is better out there.
 
What I bought last year was Weaver 49715 See-thru Rings (No base required)  They are 2 piece as opposed to 3 piece above and were only $9.95.
 
I like the idea of the see thru since the gun has iron sights.  Of course, I have only used the iron sights for a kill once, but I do use the see thru for quick identification and then move to scope for aim.
 
Is there such a thing as quality see thru sights for that gun?
 
If I must go with "traditional", I found Talleys in low (930742) and medium (940742).  They are listed as being for the 760, but how would the iron sights not interfere?
 
Are there other options?

On my 760 I have the Leupold QR base and rings.  If I had to do it again I would get a steel Weaver-style base and use Warne QRW rings.  I also use a 2-7 power scope so iron sights aren't really needed with the FOV.  But if something happened to the scope I could remove it easily and then use the irons...

Thanks for the reply, but sorry - it adds to my confusion.
 
Open to all:
Please comment on the following:
First:
About QR in general.  How could a QR system possibly be as stable or consisntet as a permanent system.
 
Second:
Under Leupold QR bases, there are 3 types:  Lupy 1 piece, Lupy 2 piece, and Lupy Weaver style.  None of these show a model for the Remington 760 (unless I am missing somethins.)
      Is it possibe, they intend to use ones made for 7600?
 
Third:
Under Warne mounts, there are 2 types:  1 piece, and 2 piece.  Neither show a model for Remington 760.
      Is it possible, they intend to use ones made for 7600?
 
Forth:
It is well documented on this sight that most people do not like the rings that come with a Tikka rifle.  Just from a mechanical perspective, they appear to be similar to the Warne rings (in that the Warne rings appear to attach to the Warne bases in the same way that the Tikka rings attach to the "built in base" on the top of the Tikka.
 
Fifth:
Talley rings goor for the 760?

  I'll try and answer three of the five questions in your last post, Robbie.
 
 First: A good Quick-Release system is probably just as solid as a permanent one of similar style, as long as it is kept tight. (Obviously, careless handling could inadverdently knock it loose.)  The main difference is that the little  "wrench" used to tighten and loosen it is built into the design on a QR system. On a permanent system, you carry the Allen or Torx wrench with you until you lose it. That's really all those little levers are.
 
Second: I'm almost certain that any base listed for a 740, 742, 7400, 760, or 7600 are all the same and interchangeable.
 
 Third: see above answer for second question.
 
 Sorry, I can't answer the last two, except that perhaps the fifth one is also already answered above.
