I haven't looked back. I moved on the the Falcon "Menace" 4-14FFP 44mm and I"m happy as a bug in a rug.... Great Scope..... I'm still on a learning curve with the "Mil-dot" and FFP, not as easy as they make it look..... especially for an old man, lol....
I am interested, did the "Coyote Special" ever come in, or is it still on "backorder"?

I've been looking at the 4.5-14x40 Coyote Special too and have some thoughts to share with you.
There are a couple of places around that'll apply anyone of the modern hunting camo patterns to your scope. I think it's around $50-60.
If you don't like the gloss and just want to "break it up" why not just spray paint it?
Also:
I like the Nikon BDC that has a crosshair and then 3 circles below for greater distances. I don't like the Coyote crosshair that has a circle at the center point too. I'll probably get the Nikon 4.5-14x40SF with their standard BDC and have it camo'ed along with my rifle stock. Maybe I'll just spray paint the pair of them.
Just my 2 cents...

You didn't discourage me. I went with a Mil-Dot FFP (Front Focal Plane) scope. I've always wanted to learn to "range" targets and this was an good way for me to go.
You can see from the picture (my avitar) that the AR that I put the "Falcon" on probably wouldn't have looked good with the Coyote Special anyway.....
All I really wanted was a good piece of glass that might "break up" the outline of the AR...

No Sir, no ARD with the one I had.
I bought a lightly used .300 RUM with a scope, a 4.5-14x40mm Buckmaster.
I didn't mean to discourage you from getting the Coyote Special by any means. I really liked that Buckmaster.

Did the Buckmaster come with the ARD (Anti-reflective device) or does that just come with the Coyote Special?
At this point, I'm very happy that I cancelled my order and went a different way....

I'm fairly sure the Coyote Special is just a camo'd Nikon Buckmaster with a BDC reticle.
Not a bad scope in it's own regard though. I had one on a .300 RUM.

I placed an order for a Coyote Special back in Feb and then found out it's on back order, all I could ever get out of customer service is call back in two weeks. They didn't have a shipping date and had no idea when it would be in stock. After waiting 6 weeks for the scope I canceled the order. So if you are looking to get your hands on a scope soon. Keep looking as the Nikon is a pipe dream so far.

Sorry about the double post. I'm surprised that you can't edit or delete mistakes...... I've never seen that before. Just chalk it up to stupidity....
Thanks

OK, I had a small problem. I ordered the Nikon Coyote special from SWFA. The web site showed that they had it in stock. I received an email confirming the order. Some time later, I received another email from SWFA, I read it but it didn't sink in, as I continued to believe that the scope was "on the way", it wasn't. The email was in reality a notice that the scope was in fact, not in stock. It was backordered..... I didn't think anything about it, until I went back to the email to find the "tracking number". I was surprised to say the least..... Anyway, after thinking about it and not knowing when the scope would be shipped, I cancelled the order....
Now, I was without a scope. I had been thinking about going a different way from the onset of trying to make up my mind regarding choice of a scope for the rifle... I've wanted a FFP (front focal plane) scope for a long time, I couldn't afford a NightForce, I've spent about $900 on a scope before, but right now, that was not an option. I've also been reading about the Falcon Menace 4-14FFP. Pros, Cons, comments, reviews, I did a good deal of research. I'd also been talking to my son about getting on. I didn't know it, but in the mean time he had order the Falcon to put on a custom pistol, using a Savage target action, 17" McGowen barrel chambered in 20PPC, 11 twist, 11 degree target crown and Holland Radial Brake. My Son is very talented and in fact has purchased "Press' " for the manufacture of 20cal bullets. They should be delivered in about a month. Anyway, I got of topic.
It turned out that we both had decided to order the Falcon scope, yes I know it's not a NightForce, but for a quarter of the money I can find out if I like the M16 reticle (modified Mil-Dot) and the FFP. So that my story and I'm sticking to it..... lol.... The Falcon should be here by next Friday. If your interested I'll keep you informed.... Thanks for the coments.
