Well long story short I ended buying the Sako A7 in 25-06.  The price the had was wayyyyyy below what I have seen on gunsamerica, able, buds, and a feww others.  I walked out the door with it for right at $650.  I couldn't pass up that deal.  Besides...it's a Sako.

I think you'll really like the A7, matrobw.  It has essentially the same action as the now-discontinued M75, except without the tapered dovetail mount grooves on the receiver (instead has rounded receiver with traditional threaded mount holes) and plunger ejector instead of the M75's fixed ejector.  It also has the "Total Control" magazine box latch featured on the new M85.  Action smoothness has always been a Sako hallmark.  I've always been a Sako fan.

Till he posts, here's my Tikka T3 Lite in 270.  Great gun for the money. I wish the "bottom metal" weren't plastic, but no problems with it.

i know how you gun-porn guys are with your pictures and whatnot.

I looked at the Tikka T3 & Sako A7 recently and they both are pretty nice.  I didn't care for the styling on the A7 stock.  I can't help but wonder if the A7 is just a T3 re-branded with a bigger price tag. I'm leaning towards an X-bolt but I've always been a Browning guy so...

I'm thinking the same thing Heavi. Since the price tag on the X-bolt is so high, I started looking at the Kimber 8400 Montana's a little as well. It sucks to have a brand new Kahles sitting in the box waiting to be mounted.

No, the A7 is not a re-branded T3. As far as I can see, the lock/bolt are different and actually come in short and long actions for different cartridges.

Got my new T3 Hunter today...
