Got my tikka t-3 and leupold 1.5-5x20 vx3 out to the range it was one hole at 50 yards i'll do 100 yards next week. Its a .223 and i'm useing the factory rings. I tried some warnes but I'm sending them back don't like the split ring with the recoil lug and still too high.

I really could stand to lower the scope about .25". That would line my eye up nice when I have a firm cheek weld. The tiny scope could go way lower.

I can't find any setup that is going to get me lower then the factory rings. All the dovetail rings only come in medium. If I use a mount with a base then the base makes it gain alot of height.

Whats the best way to get the scope lower!? Maybe a weaver rail and extra low rings or something but still I don't think that will do it?

I believe that the lowest you will be able to get will be using Weaver bases and the lowest Weaver style ring you can find or Leupold bases and their super low rings.  Millett low rings for Tikka's might be low enough rings but I don't think they'll be the lower than the two above.  Best way to know is to get the specs on bases and rings.  Might also check on Talley lightweight rings std. ht.  Hope this helps.

I wonder what base is the lowest and which one to get?

I think burris makes some really low weaver style rings.

I ordered the leupold base and superlow rings. I hope it works out. I couldn't really find a spec on how tall the base is. The only weaver style rails I could find looked pretty tall.
