The TIKKA LITE is listed on the company website in 260 Rem.  Dealers in the US can't seem to get them.   Any info?

Not that I can see. You might also consider a 7mm-08, especially if you handload. There are some good 6.5 bullets but more choices in 7mm. I have a .308, which I'm happy using...good all-around elk, deer and pronghorn rifle. Another option is .270 Win...again putting you into a wide bullet selection while retaining the ballistic advantages of a sub-.308 caliber.

There were a limited number around a few years ago (if I recall correctly) but very few ever made it into the US.

@jonoMT----Unfortunately I already own a 700DM mtn rifle in .260 which is the most frustrating rifle I've ever owned.  After three quality scopes, bedding the action, and floating the barrel this POS still shoots 3 inch groups one day and 3/4" groups the next day. I've shot it with a cold barrel, hot barrel, and a warm barrel and it never shoots the same way twice. I'm about ready to use it as a tomato stake. I hate to get stuck with Hornady FL dies,RCBS X-dies and the rest of the 6.5 bullets, and 260 cases I've accumulated over the years. I could just buy a Savage or another 700 Rem 260. Our local gun shop (gricegunshop.com) just contracted a special 700SPS run with a 1-8" twist and a standard contour barrel. I just hate to sell or trade the 700 mtn rifle and see some other poor shlub end up with that POS. Unfortunately it's a fine looking rifle with a great piece of walnut and satin bluing, but the beauty wears off quickly when you shoot it.

Why not just rebarrel it?

Definitely an option. Had good luck previously with local company Shaw barrels and another company,Federal barrels, which was bought out by Shaw. I don't know if they make a mtn rifle contour, which would mean stock work. I'm ready to check it out if the price is right.

Check Lilja and Pacnor, they both offer a lot of profiles.  Lilja will do custom profiles for a fee if they do not have the one you need

After experiencing a cut-rifled barrel, I won't have anything else. Krieger, Brux, Bartlien are but a few. All manufacturers offer a variety of contours, most of which mirror factory barrels.

A rifle that had been custom chambered and trued and blue - printed takes so many variables out of the equation that I doubt I will ever not have in my arsenal.
