I tried the 25 and it was by far the best I'd ever tasted.  However, that was long ago and memory fades... I still remember it was fantastic, but cannot compare to anything.  The 21 is by far the superior in my memory.
My philosophy on it is... what am I willing to give up in order to obtain some of the "elite" whisky/whiskey offerings... I've not really been disappointed, yet.  There have certainly been a few that did not live up the the huge hype, none I've just wished I had not purchased (some I would not purchase at the price again).  There are some "less expensive" offerings that I would not purchase again, at any price... and there are some that my thought is "I don't see how they can make anything so damned good, so damned cheap"...

Off topic... it's BEER, not Whisky/Whiskey...

Dragon's Milk... I'm a beer/ale lover.  Started out on beer when I was very young,,,
I've had beer all over the world, many countries, many "types" within countries.  At the 1972 Olympics, I got to drink a beer brewed by Lowenbrau brewed specifically for that Olympics.  500 barrels made and all consumed at the Olympic Village...(I did my share and a few others).  Until I met Dragon's Milk, it was the "Best Ever"...

There is NOTHING about Dragon's Milk I don't like.  If you disagree, I choose Ulfberht swords at any date, 0530, any location...

Dragon's Milk is my favorite of all time.  I don't have any idea what could be better. I've had marvelous, unmatchable Meads, fine beers of every distinction... Dragon's Milk is "IT"...
Dracarys...

We drove over to Tennessee today and I found a whisky/whiskey heaven.  They stock a variety of obscure Scotches and HUNDREDS of bourbons... most bourbon types I've ever seen in one location.
So, I got a bottle of Old Grouse (the kind Wes used to send me) with a shaker cup and recipes and a bottle of Craigellachie 13.  I'll be back for bourbon later... there were DOZENS I've never seen or heard of before.

The Craigellachie is a real treat.  Speyside.  First whiff gives apple, honeysuckle, pear, cinnamon.. and... much to my surprise... bar-b-que sauce, kind of reminiscent of Sweet Baby Ray's.  It has a rather chewy feel in the mouth, then a pure explosion of great flavors... with a bit of a bite.  You can taste everything I mentioned above, then heather honey, maybe some caramel, (the bar-b-que flavor is very subtle, but IS there)... a bit of a hazelnut flavor.  The finish is creamy, smooth and forever... just lingers.
Love it... definitely worth a drive to Tennessee.  I"ll be back... there are hundreds of bourbons I've never tasted before... my new plan for retirement.

Dan, I have a bottle of Craigellachie 13 at home, and I agree with you; I get some “BBQ sauce” notes as well.

It amazes me how subtle and "reserved" it is.  I kept telling Lori that it smelled like something we had had for dinner lately... I searched for a while, finally opened and sniffed a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's... held both to Lori's nose and she said "that's it".  And it adds so much.  Total surprise to me.  An interesting and pleasant take on peat smoke...

I know this seems kind of a weird and pointless factor for evaluating a whisky since it has no bearing on the quality of the spirit, but I also really like the “retro” look of the Craig 13 packaging. The label design has an “early 1900’s” style, and it looks like it was printed using lithography. Very cool!

The lithography look is what drew me to it in the first place.  Had it not been for the unusual packaging, it would have been lost in a SEA of bourbon and scotch.

Irish Whiskey... I've tried dozens over the years.  Found a few I actually liked... some I really hated.  Today, in an out of the way liquor store in Tennessee I found Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey.  Has an odd, but intriguing bottle... with a laughing skeleton on it... so I thought, "why not... what have I got to lose???"

The first sniff is floral, but i could not identify it.
With just a dash of H20 to open it up, initial taste had leather, some coffee and a wee hint of honey.  As it progresses to the back of the tongue, there is just a slight, mellow peat flavor... not overbearing or dramatic at all... just the most wonderful gentle smokey/peaty hint.  It is delightful.  Then, there is a creaminess, soft and slightly sweet that finishes the tastes.  Nothing biting, nothing that "assaults" the senses.  A most excellent whiskey that I am thankful to have found.  Oh yeah... and at the very end of a sip, just before being "commanded" to take another... there is a hint of licorice(which I love, by the way).
I think the laughing skeleton is a hint that you may like it so much, it will kill you...
Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey is a true treat.  Strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a wee dram of excellent whisk(e)y now and then.  This one is definitely going in my bar...
