Nope. That's a Kentucky rifle. A Pennsylvania rifle's butt stock curves down from the wrist to the butt, and the Kentucky's is straight.

Just reread your post; yeah, the rifle came from Penn., but there is a style difference between the Ky. and the Penn..

Back in the early 60s, there was an argument between the Kentucky muzzle loaders and the Pennsylvania muzzle loaders as to rather the rifle should be called a Pennsylvania or a Kentucky rifle. The two clubs decided to have a shooting match, and the winner would get to decide what the rifle would be called. It was a team match made up of the best shots from each State. They had their match and the Kentucky team won. Since then the rifle has been known as the "Kentucky Long Rifle". Oh, and back then they were called "long riflemen" and not "muzzle loaders" as they are now.
I knew a couple of the long riflemen that shot in that match. Only one is still alive. The other was the father of a baby my mother used to babysit. That baby is now a friend of mine, and one of the best shots I've ever known when it comes to putting one round on a target.

OK, east of Munfordville in cave country, or on the edge of it. Of course the Green River had a lot to do with the caves.
Used to pass through Munfordville a lot on the way to visit relatives, but they're in western Ky., so I'm not real familiar with Greenburg.

Other than " We're too gooda' friends" from the "lady" above, the worst words on earth are "Last Call..." and "The bar is now CLOSED"...

Speaking of whisk(e)y, my wife bought me some of this soap the other day. It smells like a blend of oak, bourbon, and leather.

Officer observed subjectt driving north on Notown RD in 0000 block. Subject crossed center line, and officer stopped subject for possibly driving under influence. When officer approached subject, officer smelled a strong smell of alcoholic beverage. Officer ordered subject to exit vehicle. When subject exited the vehicle, he stumbled and fell, striking his head on the pavement. Subject began cursing the officer within ear shot of women and children, causing alarm among the public. As subject got up he lunged for the officer's weapon causing officer to stop subject by striking subject in the head with an impact weapon. Subject then tried to reach for a 7mm Winkle concealed under the front seat of his vehicle. Officer stopped subject by firing his taser at subject, and cuffing subject while he cursed officer within hearing distance of witnesses. Officer placed subject under arrest and transported suspect to the hospital and then to booking.
Officer awaiting results of toxicology report.

Haha!

You’re quite the storyteller there, Lynn! If by chance you have a good speaking voice to match, then Morgan Freeman has some serious competition in castings for “Narrator!”

That's just how I'd write the arrest slip, TedWink

Of course, in this case I forgot to start with, "Once upon a time".

Oh, and Morgan is safe. I have to much southern country drawl to narrate.

So... I live in the Bible Belt, surrounded by Bible Belt states... none of which allow shipment of alcoholic beverages.  I am limited to the severely limited knowledges and understandings of the ABC (cleverly disguised Alcoholic Beverage Commission).  One would NEVER suspect one was dealing with the Bible Belt Bureaucracy...

While in Arizona, I ordered bottle of Compass Box ASYLA Scotch.  Light, smooth (so much so that my wife drank a dram with me)... it is a distilling well worth the price and the time.  A beautiful flowery (jasmine, honeysuckle, juniper) nose.  On the front of the tongue a dose of vanilla cream, followed by a lingering light cinnamon and cedar finish.

This is a "refined" Scotch... no peat at all... more like an aperitif or a digestif.  It is a "Napoleon Cognac" of Scotch... the only fair comparison I can give it.  Moderately priced, it is a true treat.  It would go well with a Havana cigar.  Sure there are Dominican, Honduran, and even a few Nicaraguan constructions that can rival most Cuban cigars, but my favorite all time is a Cohiba Coronas Especiales or an Esplendido.  I don't get many of those these days...when I traveled abroad more, they were relatively easy to come by.
Still a difficult find here.

Compass Box makes an even more "refined" Scotch called "Hedonism".  I'm DEFINITELY going to have to try that.

Perhaps, just perhaps, someday Alabama and the encircling states will do away with their archaic, misguided, oppressive liquor laws... yeah, and Santa is moving into my spare bedroom.  They get to control what everyone drinks and charge HUGE taxes... like they are going to give that up.  State controlled enterprise... I think there was a name for that...  China seems to "enjoy" it...
