Ed, the reproduction,

Mackinlay's Shackleton Rare Old Highland Malt - The Discovery 750 ml

is available for about $300.00 per bottle.  Very limited number available.  I've never tasted it, never have seen a bottle outside of a picture.  I understand it is quite good.  I guess it would be a good thing to add to my bar stock.

The "original" is not available, owned by some museum.

Bourbon Drinkers--You might want to try a bottle of Rebel Yell, for the fun of it.  It's not high proof, but it is good.

The only problem is you may not be able to buy it unless you are south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Our favorite bourbon, after attending many Kentucky Derbies and related parties, used to be Old Weller Reserve.  Unfortunately, the distiller sold the brand, and we don't care for its taste as presently made.

[We grew up and lived in Louisville, KY for most of our lives.]

Seems reasonable to me. One of the habits of highly effective people is having a good routine so seems Eduardo has that down... ;)

I've tried Rebel Yell, and it is good, but it had a nasty tendency to give me a bad headache.

Longhunter, you still live in the Loonyville area?

Not any longer.  We lived in Northern Virginia for about 14 years, while I worked in Washington, D.C. (not for the government).

We then  moved to Knoxville, TN, where we live now.  Born and bred in Kentucky, though, for quite a few generations back (on the Green River).

My brother and most of his family live in Nastyville Tn.; moved there from L.A.. Where abouts on the Green River? My family came from the Logan County area.

Nope. That's a Kentucky rifle. A Pennsylvania rifle's butt stock curves down from the wrist to the butt, and the Kentucky's is straight.

Just reread your post; yeah, the rifle came from Penn., but there is a style difference between the Ky. and the Penn..

Back in the early 60s, there was an argument between the Kentucky muzzle loaders and the Pennsylvania muzzle loaders as to rather the rifle should be called a Pennsylvania or a Kentucky rifle. The two clubs decided to have a shooting match, and the winner would get to decide what the rifle would be called. It was a team match made up of the best shots from each State. They had their match and the Kentucky team won. Since then the rifle has been known as the "Kentucky Long Rifle". Oh, and back then they were called "long riflemen" and not "muzzle loaders" as they are now.
I knew a couple of the long riflemen that shot in that match. Only one is still alive. The other was the father of a baby my mother used to babysit. That baby is now a friend of mine, and one of the best shots I've ever known when it comes to putting one round on a target.

OK, east of Munfordville in cave country, or on the edge of it. Of course the Green River had a lot to do with the caves.
Used to pass through Munfordville a lot on the way to visit relatives, but they're in western Ky., so I'm not real familiar with Greenburg.

Other than " We're too gooda' friends" from the "lady" above, the worst words on earth are "Last Call..." and "The bar is now CLOSED"...
