I learned how to control my addiction now. Be aware of it guys, I also thought that I was not the alcohol-addicted first time, but when I lost many things in my life, I went to the private rehab Abbeycare. Their service helped me a lot with gaining control of my life back. "

Scottmm, welcome to the OT Forum.  Many congratulations on your ability to overcome and control your addiction...to the point that you can still enjoy a "wee dram" now and then.  That is remarkable will.  Those whisk(e)ys you've listed are certainly worthy distillations.
Again, welcome, congratulations, enjoy your time on the OT.

Belle Meade Reserve Bourbon

First off, it's 108.3 proof... neat, that's the first thing noticed...once the burn wore off, I got a big blast of caramel and vanilla, closely followed by a sweet citrus hint (more than a hint, I suppose, but not overpowering)... some smoke (not like peat, just a mellow applewood smoke flavor)... small hint of chocolate and cream on the finish...very smooth finish.  I REALLY like it.  I only tried a small smackeral (which is a smidgeon less than half a wee dram).  Every small sip will hit you full on... burns out quickly and then the flavors flood in.  Now a "must have" in my bar.  Very pleasing to my tastebuds.  It can be found for a reasonable price online... unfortunately, I cannot get alcohol shipped to my location...

Bumbu Rum...
From Barbados...120 year old recipe...
It is called a "spiced rum", but unlike any spiced rum I've tried.  VERY complex... first sip (neat, slightly chilled, with a "bartender's splash" of H20) I was hit with a blast of braised banana, burnt caramel and cocoanut... then vanilla, peach and pineapple and I suddenly remembered the taste of chewing fresh sugar cane... finish was a little peppery with a hint of green apple (almost like a creamy apple brandy).  Second sip, I added just a drop of fresh squeezed lime juice... WOW...  Very smooth with flavors that keep hitting every tastebud.  Beautiful.  I am now thinking of moving to Barbados... I can visualize long days on the beach with Bumbu rum and my Lady beside me.  Could only be better if I had my own island... I'm looking...
Eduardo, I blame this on you... I had given up rums a long time ago, but started tasting again based upon your commentaries on rum.  Now, I HAVE to find a bottle of the "old" Havana Club... long ago memory... different, but every bit as complex as this Bumbu.  I love it.  I may try it with some of the "rum drinks", specifically thinking of a Hemingway Daiquiri,  but really can't identify a need to mix it with anything but that splash of H20 and single drop of lime juice.
