Extremely overpriced for the quality, I would rate them close to the vx-1 range. which is fine, but its not 500+ good

That is interesting that they would compare to the Leupold VXI range, since its my understanding that Meade owns Redfield, Weaver and Simmons. With Simmons being the low end Weaver the mid and Redfield their top line. I would put the Weaver Grand Slam way ahead of a VXI so I would have thought the Redfield line would be much more impressive

Where did you get "Redfield their top line"? Is that how they are marketing their products? |

I would advise potential buyers to stay away from all of these brands, Meade is a sh*t producing company and now that it owns these brands prepare to see the quality decline week by week. We have already started seeing complaints and there will be more. There are much better scopes at a similar price. |

Thanks for the head's up. I sincerely hope that they don't run the Weaver Grand Slam line into the ground! The models I've checked out up to now have been very good... |

I can't recall where I read it or heard it. But yes, Meade owns Simmons, Weaver and Redfield and I belive that they are marketing the products in that order. Best indication is price, Simmons is the cheapest then the Weavers and finally the Redfield line is the most $$$$
I will be greatly disappointed if the crap out the Weaver Grand Slam, it may not be pretty but it is one fantastic scope for the money. |
