Ok guys, I am still helping my brother find a scope for his rifle.  He was looking at the SII 1.5-6x42, however, I think that it is going to be slightly out of his range.  Interestingly, this puts him back at looking into the SII 3-9x42.  I was looking at that one and the Burris FFII with the free binos.  So what do you guys think?  At two hundred, which is the better scope?

Thanks everyone,

rgc

RGC - I am in the same boat as your brother and I am going to buy the SII in either 3-9 or 3.5-10.  I have not looked thru either scope and probably won't have the chance before I buy.  From all the info. I have been able to get, they are very close in quality.  Close enough not to really matter, so I picked the SII on eye relief.  I'm putting the scope on a Savage 99 in .284 Win and think the extra room will be beneficial.

Good luck,

Thanks, for the suggestion. I am not sure if my brother will be swayed by the free binoculars with the FFII or go with the SII. As for me and my new 30-30, well I soon hope to have enough in the discretionary fund to get the IOR 4x32 for just a few dollars more than either of these (and from what I understand a good leap up the rifle scope ladder as far as glass and quality go).
