I do support the NRA, but doesn't it seem that the results are at times subdued? And granted alot of our congressmen and governors are as two faced as any liar could ever be. Why do we seem to constantly be loosing ground. From the limited info I've been able to find. These relentless anti's are the noisy minority. The NRA is a strong well established, well funded and well equipped with legal minds organization. Honestly I'd rather see them for-go some of the frills for a time and focus on state by state campaigns to help us get organized and out noisy the anti's. Once every state had an established, united voice then go back to the frills, because they are helpful in educating the immigrants and city populations as to the value of firearm freedoms. Frankly, other than sending money for dues and an occasional special request (I don't understand how you've never seen one) I have done little or nothing to help secure or save these valuable rights. Mainly because my military position forbids me to do anything to draw attention to myself. That will change
soon but even then, unless I were wealthy and or physically able to start a new campaign myself. There is no platform that I know of to do anything. My district representative is pro firearms and my state gov is a lying dirt bag so other than election time sending money is it. It is well known that if you can keep your opponent misinformed and unorganized your victory is almost guaranteed. That is where I believe we are loosing. The anti's are organized funded and lack morals, so self-serving lying and cheating is nothing to them.
The best way for us to put this problem to rest is to identify whats wrong and weak and correct it at all levels.
I believe one of the biggest hurdles that has to be overcome is the concern/fear of putting our names on any list or registery that would allow us to be targeted or found if we ever faced a ban or arms surrender. I don't want anyone knowing what type or how many guns I have. That's my business, but the gov wants to make it theirs in the name of security. I fully understand the value of their need to know, but the gov I trust to keep my homeland secure. I do not trust to keep my rights and privacy.
What is a law-abiding citizen to do?
