But at least we got the internet to see it.  If any type of medium is going to help save our rights it is going to be the internet.

But then again as soon as the government starts taxing it and controlling it like they want to we will loose it as well.

Like most of you, I decided a long time ago. That if handguns and hunting rifles were banned that I would become a criminal of circumstance. Ofcourse now we see first hand how we will be treated when forced to defend ourselves. A growing percent of our government has this exact agenda. Who will be our champion to help us unite and turn this around?

UNBELIEVABLE !!!!  But it's closer than all of us think . Good old tony blair ... huh ? Did they show on their confiscation lists how many criminals turned them in ..... yea right ! They'll pass laws here a bit at a time when we're not looking ... as they always do or sneak an amendment in on a bill that has nothing to do with firearms . That's the way those crooked b*st*rds do ! Then we'll wake up one morning to ATF kicking our door in .

There is definitely an element of "I told you so", but don't be too smug.  Politicians play to the biggest crowds because they want to stay in power.  The problem as I see it is with an increasing urban populace and new immigrant influx who have no culture with firearms.  These people tacitly or not are supporting the anti's and swaying government opinion.  We tried to protest too but there was just too many other people who just didn't care about firearm "rights" or were apathetic and didn't get off their asses to join in the fight

If you don't get personally involved in the struggle beyond posting to like minded individuals on a forum this could very well happen to you.

You hit the nail on the head, "Twice"

What is so frustrating here is our champion organizations like the NRA and others have at best only slowed or stalled at times the assault on our freedom. And I am constantly asked for more money for support.  Honestly I'm concerned that there are some in these organizations who don't want a decisive victioy because that might threaten their positions.  Shocked
And even if I'm totally wrong (I hope I am) I don't have anymore to give right now. And if a victory can't be had with Pres. Reagan and the Bush's in office. Do you think there will be anything good going on with Obama or Hillary? The NRA might as well convert their building into a museum. Somebody give me a solid, intellegent, hard hitting platform that don't make concessions for the "system" and I'll shift my funding asap! If these things are so clear to us then the NRA is certainly aware. Where is is their call to arms! (figuratively) instead of the usual "You rights are under attack again, Send money".
They are as guilty of posting to like minded individuals as we are. There needs to be a

campaign to educate and recruit the urban populace and new immigrant influx in an efort to hold and maybe even win these freedoms. Beating%20a%20Dead%20Horse

I never saw any of send money from the NRA . They're all we have and put up a darn good fight ... believe me the liberal wing hates them and all the members . There's alot more to the NRA than that . They have shooting matches ... training ... events .... shows .. we'd all be using daisy bb guns if it were'nt for the NRA ! I think many should go to their website and check elsewhere also as to what they do and have done .  http://www.nra.org/   .... you may be surprised !               Name another group that has done 1/1000 th of the fighting for arms rights please !

Exactly!

I do support the NRA, but doesn't it seem that the results are at times subdued? And granted alot of our congressmen and governors are as two faced as any liar could ever be. Why do we seem to constantly be loosing ground. From the limited info I've been able to find. These relentless anti's are the noisy minority. The NRA is a strong well established, well funded and well equipped with legal minds organization. Honestly I'd rather see them for-go some of the frills for a time and focus on state by state campaigns to help us get organized and out noisy the anti's. Once every state had an established, united voice then go back to the frills, because they are helpful in educating the immigrants and city populations as to the value of firearm freedoms. Frankly, other than sending money for dues and an occasional special request (I don't understand how you've never seen one) I have done little or nothing to help secure or save these valuable rights. Mainly because my military position forbids me to do anything to draw attention to myself. That will change

soon but even then, unless I were wealthy and or physically able to start a new campaign myself. There is no platform that I know of to do anything. My district representative is pro firearms and my state gov is a lying dirt bag so other than election time sending money is it. It is well known that if you can keep your opponent misinformed and unorganized your victory is almost guaranteed. That is where I believe we are loosing. The anti's are organized funded and lack morals, so self-serving lying and cheating is nothing to them.

The best way for us to put this problem to rest is to identify whats wrong and weak and correct it at all levels.
I believe one of the biggest hurdles that has to be overcome is the concern/fear of putting our names on any list or registery that would allow us to be targeted or found if we ever faced a ban or arms surrender. I don't want anyone knowing what type or how many guns I have. That's my business, but the gov wants to make it theirs in the name of security. I fully understand the value of their need to know, but the gov I trust to keep my homeland secure. I do not trust to keep my rights and privacy.
What is a law-abiding citizen to do? Head%20Banger
