49 people showed up at the ranch for the big family Thanksgiving. We had lots of fun in the parking area with everyone pulling rifles out of trucks and comparing scopes, etc.
Somebody mentioned falling while hunting early morning and needing to check zero, so within minutes, word spread and a caravan formed and off we went to the rifle range across the creek and through the woods- bench, 100yd range, chair etc.  Men and women shooters and hunters- just gotta love it. People produced enough earmuffs and earplugs to go around-  someone had a front rest and rear bag- tripods and binos and everything appeared out of the trucks, all just impromptu, but amazing what was collectively on hand.
Some of the younger ones went down the creek a ways and just started busting rocks on the hillside. Never can have too much fun.

Some of the favorite flavors represented:
.22-250, .257 Roberts, .25-06, (260 Rem and 6.5-284 mentioned, but unsheathed), .270, 7mm-08,
7RUM (I think), .30-06s, .300 RUM, .300 Weatherby...
One young lady (math teacher niece) showed everybody how to do it with an enviable 25 yd target-  her first shoot w/her new 9mm- amazing group... some of us men pistoleros kinda looked at each other with that look- you know, "dang, better not shoot against her for money".

I just love Thanksgiving family get- togethers.

My 17 yr old son, early morning scope check...
We're sitting about 40' up a hillside at the top of a "T" of 3 narrow fields. You can see one field running off to the right, under his rifle barrel.

Sounds like a great time was had by all Alan.  Sometimes the unplanned events are the most fun.
