I will be attending two different ones. The big one in Atlanta, then there's a smaller one that will be taking place in Loganville at the VFW.

Just read about some of these on MSN.  Seems there was supposed to be a million tea bags thrown in the water in DC - which didn't happen because the protesters didn't have the appropriate permit. Big Grin

That's just too funny!  Makes you wonder if the original "Boston Tea Party" participants are just rolling their eyes in disbelief. Whacko

Boy, talk about not believing everything you hear.

Here is a little bonus for my OT buddies, a first-hand report........

I went to the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Tea Pary.

Here is a slideshow of the pictures of the event. The first couple of photos and the panoramic were from about an hour before the event started.

http://s122.photobucket.com/albums/o245/ick-xbox/Events/April_09_tea_party/?albumview=slideshow

That was pretty fun to say the least. The overall consensus at the Tea Party from the speakers and the crowd was the unprecedented gargantuan spending and the taxes we all know MUST come from so much spending....and the debt service that the spending will generate. There were somewhere near 1,000 people in market square below PPG place (The glass castle looking building). The ground is level so it was hard to get a perspective on the size of the crowd unless you were at the podium.

I talked to a few of the people there. Many were there during their lunch break since they work downtown. Pretty much everyone was flying solo or in small groups of friends. It seemed that the Libertarian party had acquired the permit and set everything up... but other than that there was no overall organization that put everything in motion and filled the crowd with “members”. Most people showed based on hearing about the event on the news or from a friend.

Someone's sign said "Out of control Democrats! just as bad Republicans! We need CHANGE not SOCIALISM!" Some of the signs were a real hoot. One woman was dressed as a tea pot, she was even short and stout. The one guy had a sign that was written in Pittsburghese. I didn't get a picture but it said something like "Yinz jagoffs need to quit spendin my dough" or something like that.

There was a black man next to me in his 50s that has some kind of web site he was promoting. He had a sign showing it but I don't know what I did with the note I wrote it down on. James was his name. One of the guys behind me is a technician at a local hydroelectric power plant about 10 miles from my house. We had an interesting discussion about carbon credits and energy costs.

The meeting was opened by a PRAYER and a Pledge of Allegiance with a focus on the particular words "Under God" that I didn't expect. A younger gal (in the one photo) sang "God Bless America", that was really a moving part of the day. The one woman to my left started crying during the singing.

Some of the speakers were hysterical. The one guy commented on this $600 million dollar project to extend the transit system under the Mon river. The general consensus has continued to be that Pittsburgh does not need this extension and has other glaring needs.... yet federal and state funding forces it on the city. Obviously someone supports it locally, but overall it was one of the prime examples and a "laugh of the day" during the event here. Once complete the extension will add additional operating costs year after year..... so "thanks for the continued burden to carry forever" was the consensus.

Anyhow, about half way through the event here come some demonstrators shouting some kind of chant. They approached the area and were turned back by police. Apparently they did not have a permit to have a gathering in market square. This “organized” group had decided that their right to free speech meant preventing someone else from having an event like the Tea Party. It reminded me a lot of the presidential rallies where the Republican events had hecklers... yet for the most part the Democratic events went unimpeded. I am certain that there are exceptions both ways…. But in my personal experience it seems that those screaming “Intolerance!” are the least tolerant of opposing views. Keep in mind that I don’t swallow everything the republicans are selling… but clearly one of the two parties feel the need to play dirty and get into a shouting match at events where they know people are not going to agree with them. (I will see if I can get more info on these people now that I am back in the office.)

This was clearly a non-partisan gathering about the unnaceptibility of spending.... starting with a culture that began in the 80s, continued through Bush, and has now exploded under the current elected officials.

Unfortunately much of what people had to say and believe matches what the Republican party USED TO stand for.  But alas, no more.

Bill O'reily has some good talking points.  See the night of April 15th talking points video.

Oh, and here is a bit more on that whack-job CNN reporter that "pretended" to be an "objective" reporter reporting only facts.  Unfortunately all you saw was her opinionated skew.  You won't find the full story on FOX News either. They just can't give it enough time to reveal it all.

Check out the full report below the short CNN clip......

Great stuff, Ick.  I didn't take any pictures, but we had some good turnouts in our area, too.  I think the movement against socialist/communist oppression has begun.

Well I'm glad that Janeane Garofalo was able to clear that up!

I never knew that the reason we are Conservatives, Rebublican's, right-wingers etc. is because of a limbic system brain disorder that prevents us from acting/responding like normal people.

After stating that the Tea Parties were solely a race motivated event she then has the gall to suggest if you belong to one of the groups above you are brain damaged.

What an ignorant self-aggrandising b1tch.

I couldn't believe it when I saw that video.  I thought it was some kind of joke at first.... like Stephen Colbert or something.....  but no, she is serious.

That is retaliation for the FACT that a few months ago a REAL Psychologist, after several years of study, came to the conclusion that people with liberal tendencies have a malfunction in their brain.  He showed the MRI's detailing a "healthy, normal brain" vs a number of brains of people with liberal tendencies.  It was a statistically significant study.
She can't "call" him on it, so she just slams out at everyone who is not REALLY broaching insanity.

Interesting, will have to see if I can locate info on the former study.  She seems to be a prime example of why some people should not be allowed to breed.

Normal brain activity:

Photo of scientist stumped whilst revieing color scans of Ed's brain.  Note..... no color... no activity.  "There is so little activity, how is this guy even breathing?" the scientist said in a surprised tone.

There is nothing no matter how absurd that surprises me about the leftists. It is clear that there is nothing (no matter how anti-Constitutional, or how anti-Freedom, anti-Christian, anti-American) that they won't do, or at the very least attempt to do to forward their communist agenda. They are the "Long Haired, Hippie, Pinko Fags" that Charlie Daniels mentioned. They are using the media to forward their opinions and agendas. They are traitors to this Country.
The very best thing about freedom of speech is
1)that it allows one to easily identify the stupid, so they can be gotten the help they need.
2)it allows that the enemies of freedom, and American values are easily identified.
