Has anyone used one? Range Reports? I just saw the promotional info for it on TC's website and I am curious about performance etc. My experience with TC is that they make quality products so I am curious how functional the caliber swapping system on the Dimesion is. Seems like it would be a great starter rifle or something to take on a hunting trip assuming that accuracy and reliability are good.

Hi Michael,
Our local sporting goods store got one in, and it followed me home.
Mine is in .30-06, and I have put one box of Remington green box 150 gr through it. I shot three shots at 25 yards and adjusted the scope and went to 100 yards. The first group of 5 was 1/2X2" vertical. The next five shot group after cleaning was 3/4", and a quarter covered most of it. A couple more groups were shot, cleaning between groups.
I shot the remainder of the box of ammo at our gongs at 200, 300, and 400 yards with only one miss on the 400 yard gong, but I was sighted in at 100 yards.
The extractor is acceptable and the ejector is a plunger type. Bolt lift is short and the action is very smooth. The trigger breaks at 3.5# according to my RCBS trigger pull gage. I have not adjusted it yet, and may not.
In order to remove the bolt, I took the action out of the stock, so to clean the rifle on the range, I also removed the barrel. Return to zero was repeatable, and most groups were right at MOA. A 24X slave scope was used for testing.
The forestock has a gap of about 1/4" between the stock and barrel. It loos like it was designed to catch leaves, twigs, grass and dirt. The butt stock lookd futuistic, like a Sci Fi artists concept drawing. I'm an older hunter and would prefer a more traditional stocl.
Barreled action is good, assembly/dissasembly, and the toos supplied, good. Trigger, acceptable, Smoothness of the action good. Reliability so far(feed and funtion) good. Stock, I'm not real excited about the design. I'm not sure the stock designer was a hunter or a shooter, but it works.
As I shoot more, I'll post more information.

Thank you for the welcome to Optics Talk. I appreciate that.
I have purchased 100 Remington nickle plated .30-06 brass. Since I use 150 gr bullets most often, I ordered 500 Hornady bonded core bullets and 500 GMX bullets. The load giving me the best accuracy is a CCI large rifle primer and Winchester 760 powder. I'll let you develop your load for your rifle. My handloads are giving me a bit over 1 3/8 inch. I'm still refineing seating depth, etc. Part of my groups opening up is due to changing to a 2-7X hunting scope instead of the 24X slave scope, but I am still shooting off my lead sled with no added weight.

Accuracy has been acceptable and repeatable. The barrel is very smooth, because any copper fouling is easily removed with Hoppies 9 and a brush. I have not had to resort to Barnes CR 10, for cleaning. I really appreciate that.

I'll let you know if the fears I have of the fore end catching leaves and trash is founded. I'll be hunting moose and black bear on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska during the month of September. There will be a lot of crawling around the blueberry patches, through long grass and tight tangles of brush.

The fact that this rifle is available for left handed shooters at no additional cost is a plus. I have been asked by left hand shooters if the rifle would be good for them. If you can live with the stock, my answer is yes. There are calibers suitable for just about eveything in the US and Canada, even if your favorite caliber is not listed as availbe yet.

So far, I'm very satisfied with the rifle. Accuracy is acceptable, bore clean-up is good, and I'm looking forward to my hunting trip.  Have I missed anything you would like to know about the rifle?
