Newbe Questions,
I just bought a DPMS Panther LR-308AP4. How tall do the rings have to be to clear the front sight (1/2, 3/4 or 1 inch)?
Second question is a SS10X42 30MM to much scope for 100-200 yard shots?
Any help would greatly be appreciated!

clearing the front site isn't a problem,as the you are not focusing on it, you'll never see it. however as you decrease the magnification power down to 1:1 it will become more of a problem. biggest problem is the check weld which needs the height of the orginal carrying handle, (generally). usually extra high rings sets are needed.
