Chris,

Some years ago I purchased a couple of Tasco Euroclass and a couple of Tasco Titan scopes. I mounted them on various calibers and used them them excellent results. Life changes, and I put them down for a number of years, and recently started shooting once again. I am amazed at the clarity and ruggedness of these scopes.

People think I'm wacky, but I prefer them over my Leupolds, Nikon, or even my Conquest. Never a change in zero, bright in low light, solid as an anvil, 30mm tubes.

Eye relief might be a little lacking.

What is the story on these scopes? Where did you get them and who made them for Tasco?

Am I I crazy to consider these the equal of the big name glass?

Thanks.

The Tasco Titan was an excellent scope. It by far exceeded the reputation of the lower Tasco scopes. To bad they could not bypass the reputation that preceded them.

Before George sold the company to an investment company we worked with him in an attempt to expand his offerings to include mid to high end optics.  We sent him several European scopes as examples to reverse engineer.  Keep in mind that Tasco is and was just a name.  There is no tasco factory only a handful of factories in the orient that will make anything for anyone.  George went to the best quality factory in Japan to have these new high end Tascos made.  My father actually named the first models that came before the Titan, he named them EuroClass (kind of a play on the Tasco staple, WorldClass).  Later the EuroClass became the Titan.  You are correct in your evaluation of these Japan Tasco scopes, they are better than the majority of what is available today.  People never took them seriously because they did not have a high price tag and they had the tasco name on them.

I had the Tasco Titan.Bought it around $200 around 10 years ago.I would compare it to the clarity of the Vari X III.Not a bad scope,I would say it was priced to high for the name and never caught on.I was at a gun show last year and seen them selling for $300 new in the box. They have a following like the Redfield Ultimate Illuminator both no longer made.
