Okay, I have a Tasco SS 20x I bought a long time ago. Recently
(about 8 months ago) I noticed that there were glass flakes inside the
scope (was mounted on my UltraMag 50). Apparently the recoil
caused pieces inside the eye piece to break. Anyways, I finally
had a chance to send it to Bushnell for repairs. They just sent
back a letter to me saying that the scope body was bent and the glass
in the eyepiece is broken. They will send me a new one for
$200.
I know I torqued the rings pretty tough one time and left ring marks but the body is not bent. So I think that assestment is crap. As for the eyepiece there is no contesting that. The flaking of the glass was due to recoil from my 50. This scope has already went back to Tasco (while back) for a loose lense. This time was the second time in for repairs. Should I even bother and pay the $200 bucks for a new scope or call it a loss? Anyone know if Bushnell will even sell an eyepiece? |

If you can get a new SS for $200.00 grab it. From my understanding, Bushnell has no obligation to do anything for you. It sounds like they are going above and beyond.
