Okay, I just ordered two Fullfield II's and now look foreward to mounting them.  In the meanwhile, I have another question.  My brother-in-law has offered to give me a Tasco EXP 3-9x42 or 40, he can't remember.  I haven't been able to find out much info on the EXP scopes.  Any ideas what I should expect?  Should I even bother?

Thanks,

Davis

Many folks don't like Tasco. My step dad will buy the Tasco if you want to sell it. They sell new on the net for around a hundred bucks.

If I remember correctly, the EXP had an oval objective and a kind of built in shroud which was just a slightly extended objective top.  It looks a whole lot like a new BSA that I saw advertised recently.  It is not on the same league as you FFIIs.  I would take the $100.00 offer and stick with your Burris.

Thanks.  I bought the burris from a fellow who broke the scope and spotter into two sales.  I passed on the $60 for the spotter and got the scope for $150.  You know, the problem with cheap scopes is that from the side, they look as nice as better scopes.  From 2 feet, a Simmons scope at Wally World looks pretty nice!  I suppose that's where people get sucked in.  Also, a utilitarian Savage rifle that is half the price of a fancy sporter will do the job just as well, but not as pretty.  The same, as I am learning, is not the same with glass.

IIRC, the EXP line was launched right before the Miramar FL Tasco folded. That might account for the lack of info. Good luck on warranty work, ABO USA "honors" the lifetime warranty of Tasco by charging as much for a Tasco repair as they do any other scope.
