Hello! I have never used a forum before, so if I am asking this question in the wrong place, please let me know. I have a scope that I know is a Tasco Pronghorn but I am curious about it"s finish. It appears to be copper or brass but I am not completely sure. I came to this site looking to ask what others think or know about this scope. I have tried to look it up by way of the internet but I have no luck. I have pictures of this, to share, but I am not sure how to add them. Any help on how to add pictures would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Is the finish simply OLD and turned plum-coppery colored, or was it made out of brass?

No, it is actually copper. I saw one a few years ago in S.Africa, a local had it on his bolt gun, only seen the one.
Pictures would help. |

Thanks for posting my pics Bigdaddy! The scope doesn't appear to have ever been mounted. It is dark or almost black on on side of one end. Under the circular tasco sticker is the copper/brass finish. At first I thought it was originally a black scope but now I am not so sure.Regular cleaner or polish doesn't work at all. I would love to know what it looked like new. Any feed back is welcome. Thanks

Kind of looks like it was stripped, then anodized a bronze color. Leupold Optics is doing custom colors out of the custom shop.

It looks kind of cool... too bad it's a China Tasco.

No idea. Would really like to find out more about it and probably try to clean it up, before I sell it.
