Hi,

I am looking for a decent target scope for my new 17 HMR. I will be shooting 100-200 yards max, and am not sure which scope to buy. I only have around 200$ to spend on it. I was considering the bushnell banner 3.5-10 x 36. One or two hunts a year would not also be out of the question, so I would also like to be able to do that with the scope.

Thanks,

Chris

I would suggest:

Bushnell 3-9x40 Elite 3200 Rifle Scope

If you are really trying to keep costs down.

Bushnell 4-16x40 Banner Dusk & Dawn Scope

That's sound advice Graysteel, he can always move up from the banner, and the 3200 aint half bad.

I got mine right through the SWFA people. The price was maybe a hair over other places but the excellent service and having this forum makes up a lot for the tiny difference I might have paid elsewhere. These guys suggest the Bushnell Elites and they suggested the same for me. I cannot say if they were better choices but I went with a Mueller APV and I am happy with it.

How about a Burris Fullfield II? Have one on my Savage 17 HMR and love it. It's a little more than your budget but it's real nice glass and the ballistic plex reticle allows for calibrated holdover out to 250 yds ( works nicely, I've actually checked it) I use the 4.5 to 14 mag version and love it.
