I have a Cooper Model 38 Montana Varminter in 22 Hornet. I plan to use this primarily for target shooting out to 200 yards. Thinking I would want a high powered scope for this work. The rifle should hold a 1/2 moa groups at 100. What type of scope would you think would fit the bill. Budget is up to $1200

Here are the a few rules I use to purchase scopes:

- Clarity triumphs magnification. (if it's not clear, you can't see it)

- Always get one with parallax error adjustment/focus.

- If your getting an AO optic, get it FFP.  (If the reticle is just cross hairs, 4 plex for example, this doesn't apply)

-Warranty are just as important as the scope itself.
