i am going to be getting a new Bushnell elite 2.5-16x50mm scope from swfa and will be putting it on my tikka t3 270 wsm, i would like to get Talley rings, but i am not sure which ones to get, i want to be able to mount the scope as sow as possible so i will not notice the difference in the size of the bell and will not have to raise my head a lot to use the scope comfortably. Thanks

Get the one piece, they screw right into the rifle action.Call SWFA as they can tell you the right height.I think you might be asble to get by with the med!

Normally Talley "mediums" in  LW or steel for a 50mm bell. Not sure with a Tikka though. One thing to consider is Talley's generally sit a tad higher than other manufactures like Leupold, etc.

I have a 3.5-10x50mm Kahles mounted on my Mark V Weatherby.  On the particular barrel configuration and larger action diameter of the Matk V, the Talley medium rings work.  However with a smaller diameter action, I think that you will need high rings.

That could be possible with Weatherby. My hands on experience is with Talleys and Remington rifles, both my m700's, 50mm bells on each, use medium Talley rings. I used to have Leupold rings (and bases) on both rifles with the same scopes and I used Leupold highs back then. The scopes actually sat closer to the barrel with Leupold highs than with Talley mediums; hence, my statement that Talley's sit a little higher than most (due to the Talley bases). Again with the Tikka dezmick has, I not sure.

I did try Talley lows and they worked too on the same rifles and scopes but I wouldn't recommend it for a couple of reasons. The bolt clearance was a little tight and you limit the scope adjustment for eye relief.

A call to Talley or SWFA wouldn't hurt. Either way you'll get excellent service from both companies to assist you on your quest.
