The Talley light weights that were recommended arent available locally. What would be considered a good backup option that I could get locally?
Leupold, Weaver are the 2 most common ones

Why not just order them from SWFA?

Just call SWFA tell them what scope you want to mount to what rifle and ask if they have the correct Talley lightweight ringmount in stock then give them your credit card number and they will ship it to you and you will have it in a few days.
Most of the Weaver particularly the quad style with two straps over the top suck and will mark up a scope really badly. Most of the leupold rings are suitable but seem to wear out with use over time. The most suitable Leupold rings are the dual dovetail style which are their strongest system. Also of value is the small T shape torque wrench made by Warne which will prevent overtightening of ring screws and damage to the scope. If you can find Warne rings and base those also will work well at a reasonable price.

My biggest complaint with leupold rings is the finish on them sucks. Most of them are steel too, so that means rust. Every set of Leupold steel rings and bases I have had has rusted on me while out hunting. Talley LW is my first choice, Warne is my second for hunting setups.
