I picked up some Talley rings from this site and they are quite possibly the best system i have ever seen. My question is, when mounting a new scope do you guys use Loc-Tite on the ring portion of the ring screws or just at the base screws?

i usually have my gunsmith mount and bore site so i haven't mounted many myself.

I use the blue Loc-Tite, not the red.  And yes, you can use on the ring halves as well as the base screws.
Talley makes good stuff.

Just don't over-tighten the rings around the scope. Talley recommends (if I recall correctly) 15-20 inch-pounds of torque. If the little Torx wrench Talley supplies with the mount was included, just use that. If not, and you don't have as torque driver, 15-20 inch pounds is about as much as can be applied with a standard screwdriver held by the thumb and first two fingers or an average guy.

Personally, I just use blue Locktite on base screws.

Jon brings up a good point and it applies to Allen wrenches in general, Torx and hex. When the long arm on the wrench starts to flex, you are there.
