Long time lurker, first time poster. Someone talk me out of buying a Mueller APT.

My situation. I just picked up a stock Ruger 10/22 Tactical Target and I'm looking to pick up a new scope for it. I want something with tactical turrets and mil dots. I also want something that I can use at 25 yards or 150 yards so something with adjustable objective lens would be a plus. Budget is around 200, obviously less is better but I really want the most scope I can get in that price range.

I currently have a Mueller APT on my savage bolt 22 and am pleased with it. It satisfies all of my needs but I'm not blown away by it. Most of my shooting (90%) is done at a "backyard range" at about 50-75 yards punching paper, hitting spinners, paintballs, etc., but I occasionally take it out to 150 yards or a little further for fun.

I have considered options such a used fixed 10 SWFA Super Sniper or Bushnell Elite, both of which can be had at around 200 and are considered decent glass for the money, but I am concerned about focusing on targets as close as 25 yards. I have seen a lot of fans of the weaver optics here but I really want something with exposed/tactical turrets.

For some reason, I really would prefer not to have two of the same scope, so. . . talk me out of buying another Mueller APT. Tell me the glass is terrible, the turrets won't track, it will shift with a slight bump, it won't last, etc. Also, maybe suggest something else? Thanks.

The ss scopes will focus below 25 yards. I would get a 6x or 10x

I ended up purchasing the SWFA 10x32 Mrad. I also grabbed an ECW 20 MOA picatinny rail. Will probably pick up a Burris PEPR QD 30mm mount.

Personally Id just go with the New 6x Mil Quad.  Specials often are package deals so you can wait and see or jump into it depending on when you need something.  If the rifle is hand held go 6x if its a bench gun go 16x or 20x . And if you really want the 10x then look at the package deal available now
