Good Optics (Schmidt & Bender) on good rifles with good ammo produce good results.
22-250, 308 & 260.... all are sub MOA rifles with a variety of loads.
The DPMS shoots like a fine bolt gun and it only took eights months to get it built.
Just ordered a 300 Rem SAUM upper for it 6-9 months build time. As long as it arrives before Nov 2008.
(pls excuse the messy bench)

VERY nice rigs ya got there, louissr!  I'm not quite as greedy as my friend here... I'd be happy if you just had a measly ol' Zeiss Conquest collecting dust that you'd be willing to loan out indefinitely!

BTW -- your bench is surgery room clean compared to mine!

Thanks! Both Tikkas are for sale (w/o S&Bs) as I'm switching over to the DPMS platforms as they
are just as accurate and don't need to be "manipulated" to reload. Of course I don't plan to hunt in CA or NY!
Wish those Berger VLDs would feed in the DPMS as they are the most accurate (1 in 7.5" twist) but have some
Hornady 140 AMAXs ordered and if they are as good in 6.5 as .308, I'll be happy. Among sporting bullets the 130 TSX
and 140 Sierra will put 3 in 1.5@200 and 3" @300 so that should be good enough especially when shooting a "machine".
Now if I could only afford a 50 BMG......

Hey, louissr, are those 4-16X50 PH w/ mildot on your DPMS .260 and Tikka .308?  If so, what's your take on that scope?  Just curious as to why you went with the PH instead of the PM-II series with those rifles.

I bought the PHs "right" ( one on ebay one in gunlist) and they are very flexible (4-16x), have used them on 270 & 6.5 bolt guns and even a 22 RF.
One has the varmint reticule which is set up for the 22-250, the other "a send back and add on" Mil-dot setup.
Also use 1" 6.5-20s: Vari X III (plex) and Monarch (dot). Can't say there is a huge difference but the S&Bs are just dependable 100% of the time.

Again, very nice setups you got there, louissr!  It's interesting that you have the exact same DPMS .260 topped with the exact same scope as a former member of OT that we affectionately refer to as the * "Rubber BANNED Man!"  Small world, eh?
