I received my Swift Premier 2-7x,40 WA from SWFA yesterday afternoon, and i examined the scope to make sure that it is what i wanted. IT IS!
I did not mount the scope on a rifle (it will go on a 6mm) so i can't comment on durability.
But, from an optical point of view, it is excellent. Brighter than any binoculars that i have, it worked very well into the night, well past the legal shooting hours. I kept looking into the woods behind my house after sunset and i was amazed by how well i could see. The quadraplex reticle is fine enough for target shooting at longer range, but i had no problem seeing it and aiming half an hour after sunset on a cloudy evening.
Sharpness, brightness, true colors, edge clarity, lack of edge distortion, are all great. What i find amazing is the very wide field of view. For a while the reticle and the image were a bit fuzzy, until i realized that i needed to adjust the ocular/reticle. This must be the only scope on the market that offers 2x 40mm and wide field (60 ft. at 100 yards). The view is amazingly wide and bright compared to other scopes that i looked through.
The eye relief is enough for a 6mm (2.9-2.7"), but it may not be for a magnum. I also noticed the difference in eyerelief between 2x and 7x, about 1/4", which may require a different head position when i shoot, and i hope that this will not be a problem. Anyway, the scope will probably stay at 2x.
I also wander what were they thinking when they included that red ring on the objective bell?
I think that i made a good buy.
