They do not share any of the same parts, it is a totally different animal from the ground up.  HD has a dual meaning on this scope (Heavy Duty and High Definition).  These were built to fullfill a special order request.  I added a couple hundred to the order for retail sales.  This scope will compare to scopes priced in the $1,500. range.

Unless we get another large special order we may not be making any more of this variation.

I'll post more details about the scope including images soon.

Now that is an interesting scope.

Since it is new from the ground up. What will the close focus range be, 10yds like the original 10xSS?

While not very helpful while actual bullets are in the air, the 10m parallax adjustment is kinda handy when dry firing in the garage.

I really don't do any shooting at 10yds either but just used that distance since that is what the original did. I guess I could have rephrased the question.

A question for the SWFA guys. How does this scope compare with a MK4 M1 fixed ten power?

It is optically superior and relatively easy to see the difference when compared side by side viewing resolution charts.  It also out performs it in low light test.  On paper it is equally as durable.  We don't have any real world longevity test on it yet but Michael McDonald will be trying to break one soon on his 8lb unbraked Sako .338 Lapua.  OUCH!
