Forgive me for this question as I am sure it seems clueless. Can the 1x4 SS work with a 6.8 as far as the BCD? Is the the BCD for a 1x4 SS a 223 or what. I have no idea, Thanks for your information on this,I am fairly new to the tactical scope systems and I am am still trying to learn,Kev

The reticle is mil-scale and not for any particular caliber. It will work with your 6.8 as a BDC.
But, you will have to do the math regarding your bullet trajectory and referencing it to the mils on the reticle. I have done the same with the 3-9 SS and a 22-250.
I'll leave further discussion to the experts around here who use mil-dot all the time.

So am I to understand they send information with the scope which tells you how to use the reticle with what ever cal one is using or do you just have to look it up on a web site or just use fps with BC of the bullet you are using,Kev

When you run a trajectory chart for a specific ammo you input the weight and balistic coefficient and velocity of the bullet and input the temperature elevation above sea level etc and you print out a chart the chart can show drop in inches or it can show drop in 1/4moa clicks or it can show drop in 1/10 mil s
Since the scope is in mils you select mils on the balistics program and it will tell you how many clicks to dial in for what distance.  It is similar to using a scope with MOA  system with 1/4moa per click but instead each click moves it about 1/3 of an inch at 100 yds rather than 1/4 inch.  The beauty of a Mil Mil system is that the reticle is in the same type of measurement so you can measure from the center X of the target to where your first hole in the target is say its high  two inches right 4 inches but using the mildot reticle you measure how many tenths of a mil high it is and how many tenths of a mil right it is then you dial in the correction in tenth mil clicks to set your zero.   Once zero is set and you know that from your balistic trajectory chart that 400 yds is  say -2.3mil you can dial in .3 and hold over using the second mil dot or you can dial in all 23 clicks and use the center of the reticle.

questions --just ask  - its really simple once you play with it a tad -

Personally I would use the 3-9 with the mil quad or mildot reticle unless you have a serious need for CQB use up close.
