Good evening everyone. I just purchased this scope and so far,I really like it. It rests on a Remington 700 sps with AI stock. I am getting sub MOA and am really pleased thus far. I noticed on this scope there is a focus ring about 3 - 4 inches from the ocular lens and right at the ocular, there is apparently another adjustment ring with a 0 and a + and a - sign. Please forgive me but what the heck is that for?
Thanks for any input.

that is what you use to focus your reticle to get it as sharp/defined as possible. best way to do this is look a a clear blue sky while adjusting it for short burst of time. Don't do it to long or your eyes compensate for the sky and your not gonna get it as good as you can. You wanna make the reticle as sharp as possible to your eyes. No real right or wrong way as long as its good to your eyes

The one with the plus and minus, is the diopter adjustment. It allows you to focus the reticle to your particular eye.
The way this done, while looking at a featureless back ground such as a blue sky, turn the ring until the reticle is in focus. Close your eyes for a few seconds, check the reticle again. If you look at it long enough, your eye will focus automatically. This leads to undue eye strain.

Man you guys are awesome!! When I was sighting in my scope yesterday,I noticed the reticle getting fuzzy. I thought it was my middle aged eyes. It seemed I could focus on the target OR the reticle but not both at the same time. Thanks again for the responses! Now,If I can just sneak away from the wife for a bit...

+1 on what SVT and BB told you to do. But I also set my focus on infinity(The one that does not have the plus and minus on it.) when I focus the reticle.

onsitemechanic, I asked this on another post.  Do the mil dots look on your scope look too big for small targets at long range?

I am not really sure. This is my first mil-dot scope. The thing I noticed is while I was attempting to sight in the scope and really concentrate on keeping the crosshairs on center of the target, the crosshairs would start to blur, almost like one would expect when experiencing double vision. Instead of a crisp, clean line,it was very broad and hard to tell if it was on center. I thought it may be my eyes because I have been noticing my ability to read small print is getting harder. Still got all my shot groups within 1 inch at 100yds. If I can rectify the blurred crosshair, maybe I can just shoot one ragged hole....  Maybe not.
