I just got off the phone with Chris Farris...... The recent and still ongoing storms in the area have decimated the power grids..... SWFA is probably going to be out of operation for the next 2-3 hours..... They just recently were able to get into the building. Please be patient, and understand that as of right now, there are no e-mail servers, and phone lines are out completely for the time being. If you have tried to make a scope purchase and are receiving error messages, be patient. Chris, and the staff at SWFA are all working very hard to get things back up and running.

From Chris Farris:

Last Wednesday we started launching our new sites slowly in stages, Wednesday night we lost power to our corporate headquarters located in Red Oak, Texas due to severe weather.  The power outage caused our phones to go down as well.  We were able to run a very minimum amount of resources off a generator but for all practical purposes we were dead in the water.  Power was not restored until 24 hours later.  This abrupt power outage caused some major issues with our servers and software.  It could not have happened at a worse time as we were transitioning into totally new technologies at the time.  Fortunate for us, we had just moved all our web servers to a more secure location in downtown Dallas so our sites remained up and running.  Orders were coming in but not going out as our warehouse facility was still down and our in house fulfillment software was riddled with errors that kept us from downloading and processing order.  We were able to get everything fixed yesterday (Thursday the 18th) and started getting orders out in the order they were placed.

As of today Friday June 19th we are fully operational and 100% caught up on all orders.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any of our customers and greatly appreciate your patience during this very stressful time.

Billy,

Would this explain the fact that I have not gotten any emails from the OT about post replies and strings I am monitoring?

Yes.... All servers at SWFA are down. The only reason we have the OT and the SWFA site are because they are handled at a different locale.

Just saw this post.  I ordered a Vortex Crossfire scope from them on the 11th.  Received confirmation of the order from John the same date and nothing since.  Sent an e-mail a few days ago asking if scope has been shipped with no reply.  Guess a phone call would be better considering their plight.

Hi Tom, welcome to the OT!  Howdy   The SWFA's customer service is usually untouchable!  Chris and his gang will definitely take care of you.  They usually ship same day if item is in stock.  If you haven't received the Crossfire by this evening I would call them.  I am in PA. and mine took 6 days to arrive with good weather.  My shipped same day I ordered it so the delay was all shipping.  With 10" of rain in one day after drought conditions you can bet there is some local flooding.

Received an e-mail from Stephanie.  She said they would overnight the scope as soon as they got everything sorted out.  Can't ask for more than that.

Went to mount the Vortex on a 98 Mauser action barreled with a heavy 7/8" Parker Hale 308 barrel.  I was going to use Burris Signature rings, medium high, which is supposed to work with a 50 mm objective.........WRONG!  The objective touched the straight barrel leaving a gap of about .0010" under the scope in the front ring.  I ended up ordering Weaver windage adjustable rings in extra high configuration .585" from base of ring to bottom of scope.  They scould take care of the problem.

I just tried to access the sample list and can't get in.  Usually, there is no problem.
