I spoke with them in late Janurary and they told me they would start handling them this summer..... I really like the Sightron I bought, I haven't seen a Big Sky model yet, nor have I seen the pricing.

I was under the impression that Sightron scopes are manufactured in the U.S.  I found that they are actually a Japanese company and that their distribution center is in N.C.,  not that it matters, but in my ignorance I have been under the impression that the glass from Japan wasn't as superior as some other companies i.e. Zeiss, Nikon, Burris, Kahles, ect. Could you please help me to understand the differences, subtle or otherwise?Confused

Burris glass is also Japanese.

Nikon glass is typically Japanese as well.

Leupold glass is Japanese on high end products and Korean or Chinese on low end products.

Nightforce glass is Japanese

Bushnell Elite glass is Japanese

Super Sniper glass is Japanese

For the most part, you get what you paid for.  Where the glass is actually from is a somewhat secondary concern.

Either Korean or Japanese.  It is hard to tell offhand.

It is a pretty decent scope and I would assume that the glass is Japanese or at least used to be.  It would not be my choice for the "bang for the buck" award, but a perfectly serviceable scope otherwise.

At least it isn't Chinese.

My IOR Valdada should show up on Tuesday.  Now we know that has some good glass.

And my two cents on Sightron.  Some of the best optics out there.  Glad SWFA is carrying.

They've been promising to sell SIGHTRON for a long time. I wonder what the delay is. I've never looked through one ,but I've never read a bad word about SIGHTRON.

I have the SI 3-9x32 rimfire I picked up pretty cheap, and if this is the lower end of the sightron line, then, all I have to say about the rest is WOW!!  The optics are excellent, and the quality of the manufacture is  un believable
