After literally reading for 2-3 hours a day for TWO months about scopes I have made my decision. I had two requirements 1. MIl/Mil Tracking  2. Meet my budget. and, of course SWFA had the only real option under $500. So I got approval from the wife, and ordered the 10x42 SWFA for $315 shipped. Now I feel like a kid at Christmas!!! They were back ordered, no surprise there. So now I wait!! I can't stand it!!!

Welcome to Optics Talk!

You made an excellent choice, IMHO. The more I use my SS's, the more I appreciate them.

You will need rings. Don't go cheap on the rings.

I thought you had your lead therapy session today? Big Grin

Excellent point. What are you doing about a mounting system, Mr. Bender?

I should practice what I now preach, years ago I met old Dave Talley. When I repped Berkley and he happened to be a big time Bass fisherman and he asked what I had to trade. I sent him about 20 lbs. of Power Bait and a load of Bass plugs and he sent me a set detachable rings and bases for my ole CZ BRNO and my TC G2 muzzleloader probably one of the few ml's in the country with Talley mounts on it. He called me when he got my package squealing like a little kid about his care package and that was pretty much how I felt about my package also.

I need a trigger for it, as Rem recalled 800,000 rifles with the X mark pro. And I dont want to send it in and wait 3 years for it. So Timney time.....

Ya...Timney cheaper.....I am a cheap bastard. I was going to leave the X mark in it and do a spring kit, but I think a Timney will be better in the long run....

I'm sure thrifty is a better description and the old axiom is do it once and never look back.

wow now I feel bad having  10's of K's wrapped up in my steel and glass. Although I look at my gear as a savings account of sorts.

I have a family, two kids and a new gun store. Broke as hell. I quit a great job to be around the kids more. But never going to give up on shooting. So while I have wine tastes, I am on a cool aid budget.

I have all those as well but my business is more mature.. I wish you all the world in success. It's hard to go wrong in the gun biz these days.

Hello everyone, I just received my SWFA SS 3-15x42 the other day, and I was getting to know her name but I removed the N2 port sticker on accident. It was the one under the Ocular adjustment focus, not the Turret. Anyway I put it back on but it is sloppy now, And well I guess i just want to know if that was a big "No No", or that it's not a big deal and i don't need to replace it or anything crazy... Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. By the way I love the scope thus far, I have not put rounds through it yet but if it lives up to it's reputation like i think it will, then I will be a returning customer for life.

Freedomfries, no worries. That sticker just indicates where the nitrogen port is located. No big deal at all.

Welcome to Optic Talk and thanks for the good words.
