I am looking at getting this scope for my Bushmaster ORC .308 16" bbl. AR 10. The reviews are great. I am new to the forum and already learning. I have a cheap scope 3x9 on my weapon now and want to upgrade to a mid range scope that can reach out there for hunting hogs and deer. Couple of questions: now when I hold on a deer or hog over 200 yards, with a little movement of the scope by heartbeat or something else, the crosshairs move off the target. Not enough magnification. Will this new one help tremendously? Also, I just found out about resetting the turrets to zero. Help me on this please. I need to learn about these scopes now and I see there is a whole lot more than just focusing and aiming. I would appreciate it guys. I am ex law enforcement( long time ago) and military. Proud to be a veteran and American.

Ps: I wan to be able to hold the crosshairs on a hogs shoulders at 300-400 yards and be confident that that when I pull the trigger, he will eat the dust. Confidence.

The more mag the more you will see the crosshairs move with your movement.  To be completely honest it sounds like you need a little more trigger time getting confident or improving your technique if you have having allot of jump in your crosshairs with only a 3-9.  I just don't want you to spend $700 and then when you still experience movement from your form then think its the scopes faught.

That said.  Yes the 3-15 is an excellent scope and well worth the price.  I have one on a 6x45 AR that suits it very well.
