The uneven surface (the relief cuts) of the rear ocular assembly on my 3-15's prevents any Butler Creek caps from staying on.  Can anyone suggest an alternative?  Or is there a Butler Creek cap that is deeper and would engage more of the surface of the scope?

Thanks.

http://www.aadmount.com/Caps/Caps.html

They aint cheap at $100.00, but they have a lifetime warranty.

you could always just add some black tape to hold it on.  Put a little around the scope to make it slightly bigger so it will fit.  Or just tape it on.   I have done that with a few butlers over the years.  Or order a smaller size.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

black tape would also be my suggestion - me second suggestion. My first suggestion would be to not by any Butler Creek caps, they do indeed suck now.

If I kept replacing the Butler Creeks every time they failed with Butler Creeks, it wouldn't take long to have spent what the aadmount covers cost.

I had the same problem too.  The ocular fell off after the first shot.  I used one layer of double sided scotch tape.  It holds very securely and isn't noticeable.  I was also under the misconception that Butler Creek was still a good product. Thumbs Down

I just add a wrap or two of electrical tape around the scope to build up the O.D. and the BCs stay put.
The only thing I dislike about the BC covers is that they break easily at the hinge point.
I can't see how they suddenly suck. Did they go to a cheaper plastic or something?
Keep in mind that these are sacrificial and consumable to protect our lenses.

They were bought out by another company. The ones I have before the buy out work great, but the ones I have after the buy out suck!

I have several of the "old" Butler Creeks and love them, they are awesome.  The new do indeed break at the hinge with very, very little force applied.

The aadmounts are expensive, but they have a lifetime guarantee and they just flatout work.  I have tortured mine and they are holding up great.

Just a "thank you" for this thread… I've not checked JonA's site in a while… didn't have the caps I needed last I checked.  However, after checking, I found caps available (only place I've been able to find them) for my Hensoldt 6-24x72 (that my wife bought for me).  I couldn't find any, even Butler Creek, anywhere (I would have purchased BCs if I could have found them).
A+ for Aadmount… not only do they make them, they are on the way.

How does one cross reference BC cap sizes with Admount sizes?

Aadmount covers are for specific riflescopes.  Suggest you visit the site shown above, click on "buy now" to see the scopes Aadmount covers are available for.
