Are there any functional differences (glass quality, features, etc) between the Z6 and the new Z5 aside from the obvious 6X erector and 30mm vs. 1 inch tube?

Welcome, P Henry!

I doubt you will get many, if any answers to your question here, because the Z5 was just introduced.  Your best bet is to call (800-426-3089) or email (info@swarovskioptik.at) Swarovski Optik North America in Rhode Island and ask them directly.

Thanks for the advice.  It seems the Z5 and Z-6 5-30 are still at least a month away.  I decided to go with a Zeiss Diavari VM/V.
