What other differences are there between these models, except fore magnifications range and tube diameter? Optically as well as mechanically?
Has anyone tested them yet?

The Z6 is really top quality glass. Koshkin could probably give the best answer but I tend to think that the right scope should be selected based on how it will be used.  So a little info about what rifle how you intend to use it etc might help us help you.  Anyway--  Welcome.

I am not really sure how they will be used. It's more a theoretical approach so far. I am very familiar with Z6 and considered it to be a great scope, which is why I had a little hard time understanding the point with Z5 and Z3.
I wonder therefore if they use the same lenses as Z6 and if they are optically as good, as well as if there are other differences. The tube is obviously one as well as the magnification range, but are there more? The price is way better so I kinda wonder.

Swarovski uses the same glass in all of their scopes if I'm not mistaken. So the glass in the Z6 is the same as everything else. The difference in the models is like you pointed out magnification & tube diameter. Swarovski probably did this because of price. Its cheaper for them to produce a 1" tube than a 30mm tube.

Me personally I don't mind paying 1000-1500$ for a scope, but the new Z6s are in the nose bleed altitude for my wallet. I own all Zeiss or Kahles scopes, but I'm seriously considering this Z5 for my Sako 270 wsm. I was pleasantly surprised at the price!
