Hello guys I am interested in the abouve scopes. My purpose is for coyote hunting for the most part and banging steel for practice only. Ranges won't extend past 600 yards. Prior scope was a NF 3.5-15x50.
Looking to upgrade on glass clarity in lowlight conditions. Those early morning and late evening shots that often happen hunting coyotes. Scope needs to be reliable as well. Will be going with the BRH or BR retickle in the swaro and the TMR in the leupy.
Will FFP be a problem with the leupy on called coyotes?
How do both scopes compare at low light? I know the swaro was considerably better than my NF at evening when I compared these two. I would consider Ziess but saw no .5 mil reticles from them. Any other recommendations?
As a side note hunting fur and a control contract are a good portion of my income. So reliability is an important issue for me.
Thanks

The Swaro will offer you some of the best glass you can buy. But new Leupold glass is good as well. I dare bet either would suit your needs. But if top shelf glass quality is your main need the Swaro will offer you a bit more in that regard. I bet the Leupold will not offer you a huge increase in glass quality vs your Nightforce. When you get to a certain level an extra $500 to $1000 may only get you a few percentage points better optical quality.
They are both known reliable scopes, in that regard I dare bet you will be happy either way you go. I have a Swaro Z6 1.7-10x and will say it is a fantastic low light scope. |

There are times when the "few percentage points" can make a big difference, especially when you are shooting for a living. My choice would be the Swarovski.

If you are looking for something configured along the linkes of 3-15x50, I would also be looking at the Premier Light Tactical 3-15x50.
Keep in mind that the Swaro has SFP reticle, while Mark 6 and Premier have FFP reticles. ILya

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I am looking at 3-18x50 in the Swaro and the 3-18x44 in the leupy. I have looked at Premier and I have heard there glass is great. My only concern is now that they sold how will there service be. I saw a new unmounted Premier Hunter for sale but didn't like the reticle. I called the new company and the won't change the reticle. I also heard they are not going to warranty that scope as well. Seeing that has pretty much wrote them off the list. I have a self imposed limit of 2000.00. I have been looking at demo units thru swaro and qualify for LEO discount with Leupy.
I did look thru a 2-12x50 and a 5-30x50 and saw a big enough difference at dusk to know it could make a difference. Reticle wise I prefer something with .5 mil or moa spacing. Thanks so far for all the suggestions. |

If you're really looking for low light capability better resolution and glass clarity buy the Swarovski.

Well after talking to some folks and looking thru some glass I have taken the Leupold Mark 6 off the list but added the Ziess Diavari 4-16x50 FL. Need to make a decision by the end of next week.

Since you are looking at other scopes I would look hard at the Premier LT as well. |

Well after some reading and seeing RC informal review of the Premier and calli8ng them and having some of my questions answered I went ahead and bought the demo model. I think it will do everything I want.
Thanks for the help everyone.
