I'm interested in the Swarovski Z6i scopes - both the 1-6x24 and 1.7-10x42. They list the eye relief as 3.74" regardless of magnification setting. Most manufacturers list a range of eye releif depending on the magnification setting. In the case of the Leupold VX III 2.5-8x36 it is 4.7" at 2.5x and 3.7" at 8x.

Has Swaro really discovered some magic or is the 3.74" figure only at the lower magnification and the scope has much less eye relief at higher magnifications?

Brazos_Jack,

The 4 1/2-30X50 Bushnell I have maintains a constant eye-relief of 4" all the way through the power range.  I can also move my head slightly more from side to side with this one than my lesser scopes and still see the whole sight picture.

Maybe the two companies discovered something.

Many of the scopes have a "constant eye relief".  Zeiss Conquests do.  Like Rich said his Bushnell does.  Your Swaro does.

Just another example of Leup (old) getting left in the dust while still charging too much for inferior optics.

alot of high end tactical scopes do not have constant eye relief, what swaro gains here it looses in turrets, so two  steps forward 1 step back?
