Can't go wrong with either of those two choices. What's it going on and what types of hunting usage will you be doing? BTW, welcome!

If we're not suppose to eat animals...how come they're made of meat?

The Z3 Swaro would also be a good choice... fits on short actions nicely.

Either one is great, both offer superior optics but the Z5 offers a much higher magnification range. Something to look at.

I don't know anything about the SB.
But i bought a swaro z5 5-24x52 this past offseason.
Mounted it on my rem cdl .280.
Thing is absolutely awesome. I couldn't be happier.
Crisp, clear, with lots of light transmission.

I have the Schmidt and Bender Summit on my 300 RUM.  I did a review on it on here last summer.  I believe that is is the best 10 power one inch tube scope on the market. Rolltide, i also use mine specifically for whitetails. You will not be disappointed with either the Z3, Z5, or summit, but i would give the slight edge to the Summit if you are looking at something around the 10x magnification range.
