What are the differences in glass and coatings in these lines?  Do they have similar optics other than erector ratios?  How does the z3 and z5 series compare to Zeiss Conquest in similar configurations?  Thanks for the help, guys.

According to Swarovski, they use the same glass and coatings for all of their scopes from the Z3 to the Z6, except for the 2.5-15X44 and higher magnification Z6 scopes that include HD/FL objective lens elements.

I have 2 of the previous "AV" generation scopes (which are the same as the Z3 scopes) and a couple of Conquests.  I think the Z3 / Z5 is a bit better than Conquest optically, but not by a huge margin.  The Swaro Z3s are also a few ounces lighter and shorter than an equivalent Conquest.

Thanks Ted!

I am thinking about a 4-12X50 Z3 with a BRH reticle for a rather specialized hunting rifle.  I looked at the BRX reticle, but it was WAY too thin for my uses.

I have really grown to like my Conquest Rapid-Z600 on my 7-08, and it seems the Swaro might be a nice complement to it on my 300 RUM.

The other option is the Z5 3.5-18X44, as it adds parallax adjustment (at the cost of exit pupil).

+1 with Ted,I get pretty much the same result comparing my Z5 3.5-18x44 to my Conquest 3.5-10x50.
