Okay, this should be interesting.  I'm interested in the 1" tube models.   Power ranges from say 2.5-10 to 3-12.   Both make 42 mm OL and 50 or 52 mm OL models.  How does the clarity, low light, durability, weight, eye relief and anything else anyone can think of compare between the two.  It appears that Swarovski owns the lightweight title, but what about the rest.

I've had the opportunity to fire a 270 Cooper, equipped with an American Light Weight by Swarovski.  Only a couple rounds at a target. The glass looked nice and bright, and the scope was small and unobrusive.  I believe it was a 3-9X26 version, but I'm not positive about that.

The pricing on Kahles has dropped, So I suggest that you buy from www.samplelist.com a Kahles and you wont be disappointed.

I've talked with Kahles CS and there seems to be some restructering of there marketing, but they are not sure whats planned.

Bigant - I had been unaware of that sample list until some else pointed it out.  Trust me, I'm on it now.   The prices of both scopes is in the "I can sell this at home" range.  I had intended to go for a little more power, I'm using a 3-9, by shopping in the mid range cost market.  But that source is almost equivalent for the high end stuff.

I was wondering if anyone has done side by side comparisions on these two scopes.

I have done side by side comparisons of several Kahles and Swaro scopes, and they are very close.  Until I got my CL and C series Kahles scopes, I thought the Swaro edged out Kahles ever so slightly (compared to the previous Kahles AH series), but after comparing my Swaros to the C and CL scopes, I'd say they're pretty much dead even optically.  I don't think you can go wrong with either.

BTW -- I own the 3-9X36 Swaro AV you're referring to, and it is a wonderful little scope for lightweight rifles.  It's the lightest 3-9X scope I'm aware of.
