I had opportunity to look through and shoot the new Swarovski rangefinder a week or two ago. WOW! The optics are incredible.  I am used to high quality optics. I own a pair of 8x30 SLCs that I bought new in 1995, but the newer optic seemed so much more crisp (and from a rangefinder).

Is there that much difference between the older and newer glass or is it my imagination?

The new optics have had "Swarobright" coatings added since you purchased your binos.

Not your imagination. You're looking at a 11 year improvement period. Consider our trade in form to upgrade to a Swarobright pair.

Thanks. On the Swarovski SLCs, I understand that anything after 1999 has the swarobright and this is the key difference in the optical quality from my 1995 set.  Have they done anything to enhance the glass in the new style SLCs?

Is there really any benefit to the new style SLCs if you can get a new old style model for a significantly lower price?

There are several pairs of 8x30SLCs on the Sample List listed at $799. Are they old style or new style?

No changes in the optics between the old SLCs and the new.

Before I purchased my old SLCs last year, I compared them to the new. Just the color scheme & ergonomics are different. I preferred the ergonomics of the old SLCs as do many...from what I've read on other forums.

The old SLCs are quite a buy if you're patient and look for a deal.

What I understand is that the Swarobright coating is actually added to the prisms and not the glass.  Are you guys saying that the prism in the rangefinder is also coated with Swarobright?
