I have a chance to trade materials from my business for a pair of Swarovski SLC 15x56 WB. They have some sorta certificate that says Jan something of 2005. I should have got the serial number when I was looking at them but was in a hurry and didnt. I know Swaro did some changes in 2005. My two questions for the board are: How do I know if these are pre or post changes?
Where the changes significant?

It's my understanding that the enhanced coatings.....Swarodura, Swarobright, etc were added to the SLC line in '08 or so. Then it became the same glass, coating, etc as the EL's (not Swarovision).

I researched this a while back and it seems that Swarobright and Swarodue coatings were added to the SLC line way back in 1999. Swaroclean (hydrophobic coatings) were added in 2008. Everything with a serial number 69xxxxxxxx or higher should be swarobright.
The swaroclean feature is super nice though, especially when cleaning.

I also have notes on the Swarovski's and here it what I have come up with.
The Swarobright (di-electric) prism coatings were added in 1999 when the original EL was introduced. The SLC's started getting the Swarobright in 2000, with the 8x30 SLC getting these in 2003. There have been other lens coatings changes all along the way, with the newer models and the Neu versions having the latest. The increased brightness on the newer models is apparent with more of a wow factor. The Swaroclean (easy-to-clean) lens coatings were added in 2006 to the entire line-ups. The 15x56 may be much the same as the rest, but a call to the Swarovski service center is useful, they are very helpful.
