I have a new Cooper 280 will use it out West.  I have Ziess 4.5 x 14 - 50 MC on other rifles and I taken Mule Deer out to 300 yards.  Really good scopes, mounted on 30-06 and 270 WSM.

I have been looking at the Swarovski Z6 with the Ballistic Turrent.  I was at the Dallas SCI Convention and spent a day comaring various scopes.  What are the thoughts of those who have purchased one or shot with the BT?

I recently bought and mounted a Z5 3.5-18x44 with the Ballistic Turret on my Cooper MTV. It's a crystal clear scope, very lightweight, and I like the Plex reticle. I've only been able to use it at 100 yards since I bought it, so can't say much about the ranging beyond that. I have mine zeroed at 100, then have the turret set up for 200, 300, and 400... which is simple to set up using the Swaro ballistic calculator. One thing that detracts from that turret is that the rings have to be removed in order to make any elevation adjustments. Of course this should only occur when first zeroing is going on.

I have a Z6i 2.5-15x56 with the Ballistic Turret. It works just like it is designed to work. The "click" intervals on the elevation adjustment of my scope are very precise and repeatable, and the BT simply uses the elevation adjustment to compensate for long-range projectile drop. It is a sort of "preset" tactical turret, to preset it one must shoot at the range/load that is wished to be preset; i.e., it is a shortcut way to count "clicks."
The Swarovski Ballistic Calculator is good, but one does need to use it as a starting place and zero the scope by shooting at the actual ranges anticipated and for which the Ballistic Turret is preset. There is a bit of deviation between the theoretical and the actual impact points.
