I just bought this Swarovski 3-9x36 Habicht, and got one of the fine folks at SWFA to fit me some Butler Creek Caps. How does it compare to other scopes? Does it compare to its newer model, the American Lightweight? When was this scope made? Have the coatings or glass from Swaro change from then to now? Picked it up for 399.95, did i make a good buy? Thanks

The scope was made in 1990. The glass is on par with the conquest, 4200's and the VX-III leupolds. Fifteen years ago Swarovski was so far ahead of the competition that this scope is still just as good as a scope made today from other manufacturer's. Not sure on the exact difference as far as what coatings they used then. Of course todays Swarovski will be far superior. You can still notice the Swarovski reputation of great scope in this nova. You made a good purchase.

Still sounds like a good scope. I didn't figure it would be 15 years old though. Will it withstand the recoil of a 45-70 shooting 350 grainers at 2400 FPS? What I will be using it for will be whitetail hunting and much larger game in the years to come, just wanting the best low-light scope for around 400 bucks. Do you think it equally competes with the conquest? I am guessing i can't do a whole lot better without spending almost a grand on the new A-line? Maybe the Kahles 2-7X36, but it dosen't have very good eye relief? I am going to give this scope a try and if im not satisfied, then I'll send it back and try a Kahles. I can send it back within 10 days of the day i recieve it, correct? The lady i talked to said it had a Lifetime transferable warrenty on it also, is this correct? Thanks

"We do business based on a very simple idea. If you are not 100% satisfied with our products or service, we'll refund your money! Just return any new unused item to us within 10 days from the date delivered. Include a copy of your receipt and we will issue a refund. Shipping charges are not refundable and we can not accept returns on special order items."

For being 15 years old the scope still has really nice optics. It will be right in line with a conquest. Probably a toss up of which one is better. Give this Swarovski a try and if you are not satisfied call us back up. If you are unhappy return it for the kahles. It wont have a lifetime transferable warranty.

And you are sure it is 15 years old? I talked to someone at SWFA and they said that they thought it was between a year and two years old. She also asked David and he said that it wasn't 15. This just may be a mix up, not trying to start anything at all. I will call Swaro with the serial number and find out the exact date on it when i get it. If im not satisfied i will return it and purchase something else . I can't say enough about how good yalls service is, i will be a lifelong customer to SWFA. Thanks

I looked at the serial number and can assure you of the age. It is 15 years old. Apparently there is a miscommunication between you and the sales individual here. To solve further problems just ask for me when and if you need to call back. Provide Swarovski with the serial # and they will verify the age.

I wasn't doubting you bud, there was a mix up, no big deal. If i'm not satisfied you will get the scope back and ill put the money towards a Zeiss Conquest 3-9X40 or a Kahles 2-7X36 from SWFA. Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for all the replies and help. We will get this resolved and you all will still have my business, and i'll have a scope from yall. Just letting you know that you will still have my business, SWFA has been one of the best companies ive ever dealt with. Thanks again.

Recieved it today (Wednesday). Man yalls shipping is great . I took the scope out and compared it with others. It really does have good optics to be 15! I would say it is neck and neck with the Zeiss Conquest and the Elite 4200. I still haven't made up my mind on what to do with it yet. I will give you all a buzz tomorrow, if i don't keep it, i will definatly order something else . Thanks again SWFA.
