I just got a pair of 10x42 Swarovski EL binoculars.  Right out of the box they have an internal rattling with a slight single wrist twisting movement,  like there is something loose inside.   I talked to swarovski's repair department and they told me in the 10x42 EL binoculars that rattling noise is normal,  someone in the customer service department also told me that.  I sent them back anyway  and said I wanted a new pair.  They did send a new pair and to my amazement they also had a rattle.  The two binoculars serial numbers were about 40 off from each other so I don't know if this is a bad batch or what.  I don't think a pair of $1600.00 binoculars should have a rattle in them when my girlfriends $300.00 ones don't.  The bummer part is I sold my Swarovski SLC 10x42's to a buddie to get these lighter EL binoculars.  I would much rather have a pair of tight binoculars that weigh a few extra ounces than these rattling EL's.  Has anyone else expeienced the rattling in their 10x42 EL binoculars?

P.S.  According to Swarovski, it is only the 10x42 EL's that have the rattling.

Josh, I had a pair of the 8.5X42 EL's and they did not rattle. I sold mine so I could get the new Zeiss FL 8X42. I would try to get my money back if I was in your situation and go with either the Zeiss FL's or the Leica Ultravid's. To me these are better binoculars. Swarovski optics are good in my opinion but they are a better marketing genius.  Brian

Never heard of that either.  I would take the advice of Sako .308 Win and return them for a Leica Ultravid or Zeiss Victory FL.
