I finally settled on the 10 X 50 Swarovski SLC as my final purchase and I love them!
They are so sharp and clear its unbelievable!......
At first I thought they were marginally as good as the 10 X 42 at pulling in light at night until I realized the moon wasn't out yet and I was comparing them to a moonlit night when I used the 10 X 42's verses no moon at all with the 10 X 50's..... they still held their own in the dark....even with no moon, but when the moon came out.. I could indeed tell a difference!

I live in a neighborhood with 1/2 Acre lots, and mine is 1 Acre... I can stand in my backyard and look across my yard and jump several fences over and I remember thinking with the 10 X 42's that I could possibly recognize someone if they were in the backyard in the dark as the features would be visible..... but with the 10 X 50's, that job would be even easier.
If a police officer had these.. I would not want to be trying to run from him in the dark!

I'm 49 years old.... my pupil must be dilating to at least 5.0mm as that is the same as the exit pupil size on the 10 X 50's and the 10 X 42 are 4.2mm so I'm assuming my eyes are taking advantage of that.

I also notice the exit glass is larger in diameter on the 10 X 50's.

Now the negatives....... weight and size.... although I am ecstatic with my new 10 X 50's, I would not recommend them for bow hunters or the like that put allot of miles under their feet while hunting. I don't think the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

However, for those who still hunt, or sit on stands or keep their mileage to a minimum, I "highly" recommend them.... they are great!
The larger exit pupils will allow more movement without loosing the picture too!

But I want to again comment the 10 X 40's are just as good and will only really shine their stuff in those very dusky times.
